WEEKND Hanoi is a hip-hop club at 15 Ly Thuong Kiet Street in Cua Nam Ward, right in the core of the capital. The most distinctive thing is that the DJ is not up on a raised stage and there is no barrier. The DJ stands on the same floor as the crowd, right in the middle of the room, so everyone can watch the hands on the mixer. It is the kind of experience a small room can offer and a big one rarely can.

The walls are covered in graffiti hand-painted by Hanoi artists. Overhead hangs a low rig of disco balls, scattering spots of light across the crowd. When the beat lands, confetti bursts from above and handheld sparklers go up for the peak moments of the night.

For an easy choice of spot, arrive at opening time. If you want to walk in as the energy rises, come a little later once the room has filled up.

Doors open at 8:00 PM while the room is still quiet and Deep House plays softly so people can settle in, order and get a feel for the space. After that the main set starts: hip-hop, R&B and Trap take turns leading, and the floor around the DJ booth fills up.

The peak usually comes when the whole room shouts along to a familiar hook, confetti drops beneath the disco balls and sparklers go up. Towards the end the music eases back into Deep House, giving everyone a breather before closing time.

The room is split into four tiers. The Bar Counter is a standing spot right by the DJ booth, the loudest and hottest in the room, suited to solo guests or pairs. Standard Sofas line the outer ring of the dance floor, fitting groups of four to six with easy access. Premium Sofas look straight at the DJ booth and seat groups of six to ten. The VIP Sofa is a private corner for groups of ten or more, with dedicated service for special occasions.
